There is always something magical with the change of a season and for us it all starts with colour! With the changes in nature so dramatically beautiful it is time to reflect these Autumn tones in our wardrobes too. Whereas nature is more predictable with its colour palette fashion isn’t always so.
This year colour is a key trend and bringing a fresh feel to many of our wardrobe staples. Over the next few weeks/months we will be blogging about the “must haves”, accessory updates, new shapes, what is trending and of course as in this blog the colours you will be wanting to wear.
As always we will be talking colour palettes (warm, cool, vibrant, dusty, low and high contrast etc) so you can shop with confidence and update your style with #productsperfectforyou!

The Colour Trends
Every season Pantone present their key fashion colours that often pave the way for the fashion world to follow. This year is no exception with many of their fashion hues strongly represented in all areas of styling from garments and accessories to makeup.
Bold red tones are heart warming, sensual and exciting ranging from deep plum red tones to vibrant clear red. Worn head to toe in this seasons tonal dressing trend or as an accent colour on lips or accessories red is the dramatic statement colour for the season.

Neutral earth tones that are rich and vibrant with overtones of orange and terracotta are strong influencers in styling this season giving brown and chocolate hues a run for their money.

Winter’s version of pink is warm and dusty ranging from woody burgundy tones to the gentlest blush hues including some with deep salmon undertones. Colours that lend themselves beautifully to express feminine styling, these new pink shades can also add a delicate touch to deep neutral palettes of navy, khaki, burgundy, tan and “shark skin grey”. Alternatively, wear your pink palettes tone on tone for a chic winter feel.

Vibrant, zesty and spicy this season’s yellow is a key accent colour not only seen as an additive but a hot all over hue! Adding a splash of yellow to any outfit is sure to heat up your style with minimum effort. For those who crave a boldness to their look try wearing this eye catching hue head to toe and give dull winter style the flick.

Whether you are going green in khaki, emerald or olive this winter your wardrobe will love this injection of freshness. Move over black and navy you are not the only neutrals to work back with most colours this winter – green is paving the way as the new hue for both warm and cool palettes and looks fabulous both by day or dark.

Organic and grounded this classically, timeless version of neutral that is – warm taupe epitomises elegance. This “new nude” for AW17 is a colour that can be worn alone for those more low contrast palettes or teamed back with navy, plum, black and red for colour palettes that require more contrast and clarity. Thus making this neutral array of hues both versatile and modern.

Mysteriously chic, AW17 shades of grey are light and subtle making them a fabulous alternative to black when a cool neutral is required. Texture is important when wearing this colour and the more interesting the fabric or material the better. From reptile, flannel and silk, shark skin hues add a whim of elegance to winter styling.

What can we say…yes, metallic again only this season go crazy and wear it head to toe by day or dark. Metallic isn’t new but be assured this AW17 you will see more of it than ever before. The main difference this season is our metallics are taking on more of a “liquid” and fluid feel rather than a glitter finish. Having said that there is nothing wrong with a touch of glitter if your mood so happens to take you to sparkly elements. In other words, “shine” ladies and have fun!
